Subtraction Chart
Subtraction chart: This Freebie is a download that includes a PDF file with:
-a page of the subtraction chart
- a page with an empty subtraction chart for the child to fill in
(Age appropriate: around 4.5 - 7 years old)
The chart can be used to help a child to learn memorisation of equations or as a control chart for the child after performing an equation.
How to use the chart: (Example 14 - 6)
1: The minued is printed on the red row at the top of the chart and continues down the right diagonal. Place your right index finger on the minuend number 14 on the red row.
2) The subtrahend is the printed blue diagonal on the left side of the chart. Place your left index finger on the subtrahend number 6 on blue column.
3) To find the difference by slowly move your right index finger down the column and the left index finger to the right along the row till they meet each other.
